Sampadaka's tirade against Baba Ramdev
Mr. Sampadaka at it again. He is a beacon of negativity in an otherwise positive kannaDa blogosphere. Our exercise of writing periodic rebuttals to him will continue until he realizes his follies and becomes positive.

He does what he has become known for: unabashed negativity with insinuations, sanctimonious pontification etc. thrown in in good measure. Let us try to understand the (mis)articulations of a sick mind.
"ಭ್ರಷ್ಟಾಚಾರ ವಿರೋಧಿಸುವುದು ಈಗೀಗ ಒಂದು ಫ್ಯಾಷನ್. ಭ್ರಷ್ಟಾಚಾರ ವಿರೋಧಿ ಹೋರಾಟಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸುವವರ ಪೈಕಿ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಮಂದಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಕಳಂಕಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಆತುರ. ಅಣ್ಣಾ ಹಜಾರೆ ಹೋರಾಟಕ್ಕೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾದ ಸಾರ್ವತ್ರಿಕ ಬೆಂಬಲವನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಂಥದ್ದೇ ಬೆಂಬಲದ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಮದೇವ ಉಪವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಕೂರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ."
Wow!!! insinuation right at the beginning. Right at the second paragraph gives an impression as though the person whom he is going to talk about (Baba Ramdev) is a corrupt person who has just joined the bandwagon to fight corruption. Great strategy indeed!!!

ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗೆ ಏನೂ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಲು ತೋಚದೆ ಸುಮ್ಮನಿದ್ದ ರಾಮದೇವ ನಾನು ಮೊದಲೇ ಅವರನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ ಎಂದು ನುಣುಚಿಕೊಂಡರು."
There is no nuNuchufying (escaping) here. If anybody has a health problem, he approaches the doctor, the doctor doesn't come door to door asking who is ill. Same is the case with Sai Baba, if he thought Baba Ramdev could cure him, he would have gone. This is a personal choice. But Sampadaka has to take this to throw muck on Baba Ramdev. If suppose Devi Shetty of Narayana Hrudayalaya is asked a question: "why are there millions of people dying in Africa from heart ailments inspite of you being such a good doctor?" what would be his response? Isn't Mr. Sampadaka's intent malicous?
ಇವರು ಬಾಬಾ ರಾಮದೇವ. ನಾನು ಇಷ್ಟು ಕೋಟಿ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಯೋಗ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಇಷ್ಟು ಕೋಟಿ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಇಷ್ಟು ಕೋಟಿ ಜನರಿಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಸೇವೆ ತಲುಪಿದೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ರಾಮದೇವ ಮಾತಾಡುವುದೆಲ್ಲ ಕೋಟಿಗಳ ಲೆಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ. ಇವತ್ತಿನ ಕನ್ನಡಪ್ರಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗಿರುವ ರಾಮದೇವ ಅವರ ಸಂದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ವಹಿವಾಟು ೧೧೦೦ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ.ಗಳೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಷ್ಟೊಂದು ಹಣ ಕೆಲವೇ ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಗೆ ಬಂತು ಎಂದು ಜನರು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸುವುದು ಸ್ವಾಭಾವಿಕವೇ ಹೌದು. ಒಂದು ಜಾತಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಪತ್ರ ಮಾಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೇ ಲಂಚ ಕೊಡಬೇಕಾದ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಿರುವ ಈ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಬಾ ಅವರು ಇಷ್ಟೊಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ವಹಿವಾಟು ಮಾಡುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರ ಕೈಯನ್ನೂ ಬೆಚ್ಚಗೆ ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನಂಬುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ ಎಂದು ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರು ಕೇಳುವುದೂ ಸಹಜವೇ ತಾನೆ?
Mr. Sampadaka insinuates that Baba Ramdev "may have" given bribes to set up his Rs. 1100 Cr. industry. Mr. Sampadaka, if you cannot do anything positive, you shouldn't at least insinuate. If you cure people of their illnesses, and sell medicines to people, people are going to pay you good money. This is something you should consider because you seem to have an animus against everyone who does good. In case you have any solid evidence, please place it before us and we will decide.
Secondly, even if Baba Ramdev were to have given bribe to set up an industry which is curing lakhs, if not crores of people, we consider it a good deal. Don't know about you, you seem to be so hung up in your sanctimoniousness. There is a hint of self-righteousness in your tone. May one ask you, at whose behest you are flaming against respectable people like Baba Ramdev and Satya Sai Baba?

Wow. This is another gem. Sir, when you are ill, the doctor doesn't come to your home to cure you, you go to the doctor. If these patients want to be cured, they may go to Baba Ramdev's camps or to his headquarters at Kankhal Haridwar and get cured. If you have any doubt regarding the efficaciousness of his treatment, we request you to kindly go through the scientifically documented case studies, case series documented at his various camps and at his headquarters.

Probably you aren't an earthling. As far as Earth is concerned, 'con'gress hasn't supported Swami Ramdev's movement. And probably Swami Ramdev will be loath to take the help of the teeny weeny regional party JDS. May be the JDS will take the help of Swami Ramdev to spring back to power.
"ಆದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಸರಳವಾಗಿದೆ. ರಾಮದೇವ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವವರು. ಅಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮ ಜನರ ಜೀವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿ, ವಿಧಾನವನ್ನು ಬದಲಿಸಬೇಕು. ಮಾನವೀಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಬೋಧಿಸಬೇಕು. ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಅಸ್ಪೃಶ್ಯತೆ ಜೀವಂತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಶ್ರೇಣೀಕರಣದಿಂದ ದೇಶದ ಅಂತಃಸತ್ವವೇ ನಾಶವಾಗಿದೆ. ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ನೀರು-ನೆರಳು ಕೊಡಬೇಕಿದ್ದ ಧರ್ಮವೇ ಜನರನ್ನು ಶೋಷಿಸುವ ಸಲಕರಣೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಬಡತನ, ರೋಗರುಜಿನದಿಂದ ಜನ ನರಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯ ಹೆಸರಲ್ಲಿ ಅಮಾಯಕ ಜನರು ಬೀದಿಪಾಲಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ರೈತರು-ಕೂಲಿಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರು ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಭಾರತವನ್ನು ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರವೆಂದು ಘೋಷಿಸುವ ರಾಮದೇವ ಭಾರತದ ಹೀನ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಬದಲಿಸಲು ಏನನ್ನಾದರೂ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆಯೇ? ಅಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮ ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಮೊದಲ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯವೇ ಸಮಾಜದ ಇಂಥ ಹೀನಾತಿಹೀನ ಕೊಳಕುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲನೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಲ್ಲವೆ?"
Here comes the blooper, the most egregious paragraph in the whole article. The purport of this is simple: Swami Ramdev has to do all the hard work and Mr. Sampadaka will sit in his ivory tower and command Swami Ramdev to do his bidding. No word of support for Swami Ramdev right from the beginning, but suddenly Mr. Sampadaka wants Swami Ramdev to do whatever he wishes. Mr. Sampadaka, if you have a vision, come out and do work, don't sit and write critiques of people who are doing a billion times more positive work than you.

The word "Secular" was inserted into the constitution by Indira Gandhi. If words can be inserted, words can be removed too. Mr. Sampadaka, I am sure that you know that the constitution has the word "Socialist" in it. What sort of socialism is our country following right now? To decry Swami Ramdev, you have no weapons in your armoury, hence you resort to quibbling.

Mr. Sampadaka, we don't have a picture of you on your blog, hence we don't know how you are. We know that Baba Ramdev lives a simple life, works almost 20 hours a day, etc. He doesn't have a kirITa, pallakki etc. as you are insinuating. A person doing so much of social service cannot have "aham", but you having done no service to the nation can have "aham", we fail to understand your logic.

Probably you aren't an earthling. As far as Earth is concerned, 'con'gress hasn't supported Swami Ramdev's movement. And probably Swami Ramdev will be loath to take the help of the teeny weeny regional party JDS. May be the JDS will take the help of Swami Ramdev to spring back to power.
"ಆದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಸರಳವಾಗಿದೆ. ರಾಮದೇವ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವವರು. ಅಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮ ಜನರ ಜೀವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿ, ವಿಧಾನವನ್ನು ಬದಲಿಸಬೇಕು. ಮಾನವೀಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಬೋಧಿಸಬೇಕು. ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಅಸ್ಪೃಶ್ಯತೆ ಜೀವಂತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಶ್ರೇಣೀಕರಣದಿಂದ ದೇಶದ ಅಂತಃಸತ್ವವೇ ನಾಶವಾಗಿದೆ. ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ನೀರು-ನೆರಳು ಕೊಡಬೇಕಿದ್ದ ಧರ್ಮವೇ ಜನರನ್ನು ಶೋಷಿಸುವ ಸಲಕರಣೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಬಡತನ, ರೋಗರುಜಿನದಿಂದ ಜನ ನರಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯ ಹೆಸರಲ್ಲಿ ಅಮಾಯಕ ಜನರು ಬೀದಿಪಾಲಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ರೈತರು-ಕೂಲಿಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರು ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಭಾರತವನ್ನು ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರವೆಂದು ಘೋಷಿಸುವ ರಾಮದೇವ ಭಾರತದ ಹೀನ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಬದಲಿಸಲು ಏನನ್ನಾದರೂ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆಯೇ? ಅಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮ ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಮೊದಲ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯವೇ ಸಮಾಜದ ಇಂಥ ಹೀನಾತಿಹೀನ ಕೊಳಕುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲನೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಲ್ಲವೆ?"
Here comes the blooper, the most egregious paragraph in the whole article. The purport of this is simple: Swami Ramdev has to do all the hard work and Mr. Sampadaka will sit in his ivory tower and command Swami Ramdev to do his bidding. No word of support for Swami Ramdev right from the beginning, but suddenly Mr. Sampadaka wants Swami Ramdev to do whatever he wishes. Mr. Sampadaka, if you have a vision, come out and do work, don't sit and write critiques of people who are doing a billion times more positive work than you.
"ಅಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೂ ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ಮೂಲತತ್ತ್ವವನ್ನೇ ಒಪ್ಪದ ಇಂಥ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಪ್ರಜಾಪ್ರಭುತ್ವ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ಯಾಗ್ರಹ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದೇ ಅಪಹಾಸ್ಯದ ವಿಷಯ."
The word "Secular" was inserted into the constitution by Indira Gandhi. If words can be inserted, words can be removed too. Mr. Sampadaka, I am sure that you know that the constitution has the word "Socialist" in it. What sort of socialism is our country following right now? To decry Swami Ramdev, you have no weapons in your armoury, hence you resort to quibbling.

Mr. Sampadaka, we don't have a picture of you on your blog, hence we don't know how you are. We know that Baba Ramdev lives a simple life, works almost 20 hours a day, etc. He doesn't have a kirITa, pallakki etc. as you are insinuating. A person doing so much of social service cannot have "aham", but you having done no service to the nation can have "aham", we fail to understand your logic.
